CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES APPROVES JOBS ACT (IL SOLE 24 ORE, 26 NOVEMBER 2014, P. 2)

The Chamber of Deputies has approved the Jobs Act. The bill is expected to receive final approval in early December.  Among the most interesting aspects: loss of real protection for all those dismissed for economic reasons, rehiring of those dismissed for disciplinary reasons limited to particularly serious cases, reform of social safety nets, and creation of a national employment agency. Other aspects include simplification of administrative procedures, rationalisation of contracts, and enhancement of work-live balance.
With this ambitious bill, the Government seeks to boost the recovery on the labour market, reduce youth unemployment, and simplify compliance by employers.  To us, however, the arrangement appears to be cryptic in many respects and therefore will require, in addition to final approval, further decrees issued under the authority of Parliament.
