In this respect, it should preliminarily be\nnoted that, in our continent, at the time, there is no sign of the spread of\nthe epidemic, as cases of coronavirus are sporadic and not alarming. As far as the\nterritory of Italy is concerned, the Ministry of Health stated that \u201cthe\nvirus circulation does not exist<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The risk of transmission, therefore, is to be\nconsidered remote, except for those who have close and long-lasting contacts\nwith sick subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cautions must be taken in particular with\nregard to employees (both on-site or travelling) who, due to their duties, have\nrelations with \u201cEastern Countries\u201d<\/em> and mainly with people from the areas\nof China where the epidemic is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Due to the above, in accordance with the indications\nprovided by the Italian Ministry of Health, employers must provide employees\nwho work closely with the public with guidelines to prevent the spread of the\nvirus, using the standard hygiene measures to limit the geographic spread of\nrespiratory transmitted diseases, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – wash hands frequently; <\/p>\n\n\n\n – pay attention to surface hygiene; <\/p>\n\n\n\n – avoid close and long-lasting contacts\nwith those who present flu-like symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Ministry of Health, if, during\nthe work relationship, somebody gets in contact with a person who meets the\ndefinition of a \u201csuspicious case\u201d as defined by the circular issued by the\nMinistry of Health on January 27, he\/she has immediately contact the health\nservices and report that it is a suspicious case of 2019-nCoV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While waiting for the medical staff to arrive: <\/p>\n\n\n\n – avoid close contact with the sick\nsubject; <\/p>\n\n\n\n – provide her\/him with a surgical\nmask; <\/p>\n\n\n\n – wash hands thoroughly and pay\nattention to body surfaces that may have come into contact with fluids\n(respiratory secretions, urine and faeces) of the sick subject; <\/p>\n\n\n\n – ask to the sick subject to throw\naway the used napkins directly in a waterproof bag.
