ON THE ITALIAN OFFICIAL GAZETTE TWO NEW DECREES IMPLEMENTING JOBS ACT

Two new decrees implementing the wide employment law reform of 2015 (so-called Jobs Act) have just been published on the Italian Official Gazette, and in particular:

Legislative Decree No. 80/2015 concerning life-work balance;
Legislative Decree No. 81/2015 concerning the employment contracts and duties.

Both decrees enter into force today, June 25, 2015.

Among other relevant changes: (i) free lance contracts will be allowed only in exceptional cases, as standard employment relationship is the new flexible undetermined time contract; (ii) the possibility for the employer to downgrade the employees in the case of reorganization is now allowed.
