CIRCULAR OF THE MINISTRY ON ‘PRELIMINARY MONOCRATIC SETTLEMENTS’

The Ministry for Welfare, by Circular No. 36/09, has drawn the attention of Local Labour Authorities to the privileging of the ‘preliminary monocratic settlement’ in their respective inspection activities, in view of the rapid resolution of employment disputes. Settlement attempts need be the privileged way to solve the worker’s request, which may solely be followed by an inspection in the event in which the relevant attempt has been unsuccessful. Said institution becomes a condition to proceed with the relevant inspection activity which, consequently, becomes prospective and not systematic.
