LABOUR DECREE CLOSE TO FINAL APPROVAL (IL SOLE 24 ORE, 8 MAGGIO 2014, PAGG. 1, 2, 3)

The amended decree obtained the second vote of confidence by the Senate. Now it has to obtain the definitive approval by the “Camera dei deputati”. These amendments include the following: fixed-term contracts do not need to be justified; possible extensions to the fixed-term are increased from one to five; employers can now employ a maximum number of fixed term employees equal to 20% of its indefinite workforce, breaching which a fine is payable; as regard apprenticeship the “confirmation” quota of “Fornero Law” is reduced.
