Starting in May 2015 13 weeks of contributions paid in the four years prior to unemployment will be sufficient for obtaining the new unemployment benefit called NASpI. The maximum duration of the benefit will be two years (a year and a half as of 2017) with a cap of 1,300 euro. Independent contractors who lose their jobs between 1 January and 31 December 2015 will be eligible for the so-called “Dis-Coll”, a new experimental benefit, also with a ceiling of 1,300 euro.
